This study aims to determine the effect of the physical work environment on teacher performance at UPT of Senior High School 23 Palembang. This research is descriptive and quantitative. The population in this study is teachers with the status of Civil Servants (PNS), totaling 49 people, and using the saturation sampling method. The Data collection was done through questionnaire. The analysis technique used in this study is simple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the physical work environment has a negative and significant influence on teacher performance at UPT of Senior High School 23 Palembang. The improvements of room such as expanding the size of the teacher's office space, layout, the changes of wall colour and the additional supporting facilities such as air conditioner are able to conduct in effort to improve the teacher performance.
