PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) DI PEMBIBITAN UTAMA YANG DIBERI KOMPOS PELEPAH SAWIT DAN BIOCHAR SEKAM PADI
The purpose of this Study was to find the best combination dose of compost from oil palm midrib and rice husk biochar for the growth of oil palm seedlings (main nursery). This research was conducted from August 2020 to March 2021 at the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya ,Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. The seeds used in this study were Marihat varieties, which were planted in 5 kg polybags. This study used a Factorial Randomized Block Design using 2 factors that each of them had 4 levels. First factors were oil palm midrib compost (P) consisted of (P1); 0 g/principal (P2); 250 g/tree (P3); 500g/principal and (P4); 1000 g/tree. The second factors were rice husk biochar (B) consisted of (B1); 0 g/principal (B2); 12.5 g/principal (B3); 25 g/principal and (B4); 50 g/tree. Each treatment combination had four replications and each unit contained one oil palm seed so there were 64 units of oil palm seed were obtained. The results showed that the application of palm midrib compost had a very significant effect on the increase of plant height and stem diameter also it had a significant effect on the leaves greeness level. Increasing the dose of compost from palm midrib tended to increase the number of leaves, there was a tendency that increasing the dose of rice husk biochar would reduce plant height, leaf length and could increase the number of leaves, stem diameter and the leaves greeness level.
