STUDI PERLAKUAN PRIMING BENIH CABAI MERAH (Capsicum annuum L.) VARIETAS PILAR F1 TERHADAP PERKECAMBAHAN DAN PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT
The aim of this research was to know the most effective priming treatment to increase the vigor and viability of expired and unexpired chili seeds. This research was conducted at seed technology laboratory and at Greenhouse of Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University from March 2021 until May 2021. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 12 treatments and 3 replications on 2 research sub units, namely expired seeds and non-expired seeds. Each treatment unit consisted of 50 seeds. The treatments used were, A = Aquades (control), B = NaCl 1 gram/liter, C = KNO3 2 grams/liter, D = H2SO4 2 ml/liter, E = PEG 6000 250 grams/liter, F = urea 1 gram/liter. Research results show that the treatment of various priming materials on expired seeds did not significantly affect all observed variables, while on non-expired seeds, it had a significant effect on the variables of simultaneous growth, speed of germination, stem length, and plant height 7 HST and had no significant effect on the variables of germination, root length, sprout dry weight, plant height 14 HST, 21 HST, 28 HST and the number of leaves each week. Treatment urea 1 gram/literis a treatment that gives the best results on several variables observed in expired red chili seeds. Meanwhile, treatment KNO3 2 gram/liter is the best treatmenton several variables observed in unexpired red chili seeds.
