Boarding house is a property business in the form of a layover that has various types, facilities, and prices. A lot of information about boarding houses that must be known before prospective residents determine the room to be lived in. Rumah kost ummi, is one of the boarding houses located in the city of Palembang, but with the limitations of data processing and marketing methods applied by boarding owners are still ineffective and efficient. The owner of the boarding house only disseminates boarding information to people around with a narrow scope. The creation of this application can be a medium of exchange of information from the owner of the boarding house to prospective residents as well as to the residents of the boarding house. This application also helps boarding owners in managing rental data, resulting in reduced data errors that often occur. The purpose of this research is to produce a website-based application that can later be useful for boarding house owners and boarding house residents. In the development of this application the author uses a prototype method that requires the boarding owner to play a role in the development so as to save time. The programming languages used for the creation of this application are PHP and XAMPP for its database, while the framework used is Codeigniter. The results of this study in addition to being able to display information related to rentals, there is also a room booking feature by prospective residents, as well as having a messaging feature that allows boarding owners and residents to communicate. The results of the website trial stated that the program runs according to the desired flow.
