This research is entitled “The Reality of Self Disclosure of Deaf Persons in Social Media (Phenomenological Study of Instagram Users in Members of Gerakan untuk Kesejahteraan Tunarungu Indonesia (Gerkatin) Palembang City). This study aims to determine the phenomenon of the reality of individuals with deafness in self-disclosure on Instagram social media. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. In this study, using the self-disclosure theory proposed by Devito (2011) and using a phenomenological approach to show a phenomenon of social reality with data obtained from in-depth interviews with 3 individual informants with Deaf who are members of Gerakan untuk Kesejahteraan Tunarungu Indonesia (Gerkatin) Palembang City, then observation, literature study and documentation. The results of this study indicate that individuals with deafness are able to make self-disclosure regarding information, feelings, attitudes, ideas and ideas through Instagram social media.
