The socialization of Indonesian Sign Language (Bisindo) conducted by Gerkatin Palembang to the public is to provide information about the language used by deaf people everyday and, provide education, so that they can interact easily and be understood by both parties. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. In data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation study. The results of this study indicate that there is and effective communication strategy according to Hafied Cangara in disseminating Bisindo (Indonesian sign language) to the public, among others a). Se lecting and Establishing Communicators, b). Setting Targets Goals, c). Arranging Message Contents, d). Selecting Media or Communication Channels and the last is e). Evaluation. Direct communication with the educational method from the communicator to the target is felt to be the most effective by Palembang City Gerkatin.
