Siti Kartika Indah Malayati, Meaning of the Illuminati Symbol in the Video Clip of EXO - MAMA (Study at EXO - L Palembang) The purpose of this research is to find out the Illuminati symbols inserted in the EXO boyband, to know the meaning of the Illuminati symbols based on the EXO-L Palembang's point of view as fans, and to know their acceptance of the Illuminati inserted into their idols. This type of research is qualitative research. The research informants were EXO-L Palembang based on certain criteria using purposive sampling technique. Primary data obtained by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, secondary data is obtained from books, journals, articles, and related research. The results showed that there were Illuminati symbols in the form of a phoenix, unicorn, monarch butterfly, horus eyes, hexagrams, and robes as well as worship rituals in video clips and photos of EXO boyband photoshoots. It is also known that the knowledge of EXO-L (the name of EXO fans) Palembang about the Illuminati is very minimal, they tend not to care about the Illuminati that is inserted into their idols. The thought patterns formed, namely accepting, negotiated, and oppositional, occurred when the 7 informants agreed that there was indeed Illuminati in EXO, including 3 informants who had an accepting / dominat mindset, then 2 informants who had a negotiated mindset, and 2 informants who had opposional thought patterns.
