HUBUNGAN KARAKTERISTIK KELUARGA DAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN TINGKAT KECERDASAN INTELEKTUAL SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR DI WILAYAH PUSKESMAS AIR BELITI KECAMATAN TUAH NEGRI
Background: The success of the national development of a country is also determined by the availability of quality human resources, namely, human resources that have strong physical, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional intelligence, which are excellent in addition to their mastery of technology. Intellectual intelligence can change over time depending on the surrounding environment, stimulation involvement, family characteristics, input and support of the family in the form of emotional, instrumental, informative, and assessment support so that the active role of the family is needed for optimal cognitive, motoric, and verbal development. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family characteristics, family support, and the level of intellectual intelligence of elementary school students in the Air Beliti Community Health Center area, Tuah Negeri District. Method: This study used a cross-sectional design. The research population was elementary school students in grades 4, 5, and 6 of five elementary schools in the working area of the Air Beliti Health Center, a population of 200 children from five elementary schools, representing 10% of the total school coverage of the Air Beliti Community Health Center working area with a random sampling technique. simple. The sample size in this study was 85, with a random sampling technique. Univariate, bivariate chi-square, and multivariate logistic regression tests were used to analyze the data. Results: The results showed that among 85 respondents, 27.1% had intelligence below the average, and there was a relationship between the father's occupation, socioeconomic status, and family support with the intelligence of elementary school students with a p value < 0.05. The results of the multiple logistic regression test showed that the dominant factor that influenced students' intelligence was the occupation of their father. Exp (B) 6,770. Conclusion: As a result of the research conducted, there is a relationship between a father's occupation, socioeconomic status, and family support and the intelligence of elementary school students, so that parents need to pay more attention to the quality and quantity of needs in terms of intake, the need for facilities, and assistance for learning that can affect the level of intelligence of children.
