FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KELUHAN PENDENGARAN NON AUDITORY EFFECT PEKERJA AREA MESIN DI PT PLN (PERSERO) UNIT LAYANAN PUSAT LISTRIK INDRALAYA
The use of the machine has noise with a high-power sound. The negative impact is noise that is harmful to employees. Indonesian data explains that the prevalence of deafness is rather high, namely 4.6%. Workers are not aware of the incidence of complaints suffered so that the sensitivity of the ear can temporarily change to dominant sensitivity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors associated with hearing complaints of non-auditory effects on machine area workers at PT PLN (Persero) Unit Layanan Pusat Listrik Indralaya. This research method is quantitative with a cross sectional study design. The population in this study were 90 workers. The sample in total is 35 people selected by simple random sampling method and data analysis using chi square or fisher exact test. The results showed that the highest noise intensity was obtained at the source of the GT 12 engine at 87.5 dB (A), the hearing complaints of workers in the PT PLN ULPL Indralaya engine area (25.7%). Frequency distribution of worker age < 40 years (77.1%), working period < 5 years (51.4%), working duration < 8 hours (65.7%), and noise intensity < 85 dB (65.7%) . Variables related to hearing complaints were years of service (p-value = 0.007), length of work (p-value = 0.003) and noise intensity (p-value = 0.038). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between working period, length of work and noise intensity with hearing complaints in workers, substitution control in the company does not replace noise sources with machines that have lower noise intensity. It is hoped that this research can be the basis for related parties to install silencers at noise sources if possible by installing insulation on generator engines at PLN which is the source of noise and the company's efforts to carry out overall audiometric inspection activities for workers.
