PENERAPAN METODE ELECTROPLATING PADA BAJA ST-37 TERHADAP KOROSI
This study raised the theme of corrosion control with the title "Application of Electroplating Method on ST-37 Steel to Reduce Corrosion Rate". The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an effect of the distance between the anode and cathode on the thickness of the electroplating layer and how the effect of electroplating in minimizing corrosion damage on ST-37 Steel. Furthermore, the purpose of this study is to find out how the effect of distance variations on the thickness of the coating and to find out whether electroplating can minimize the damage that occurs to ST-37 steel. The type of research used in this research is experimental with descriptive analysis techniques. The results of electroplating data analysis show that the closer the distance between the anode and the cathode, the thicker the coating, and the corrosion data shows that the tin layer is able to minimize the damage caused by corrosion. The result of this research is that tin is able to slow down the corrosion rate that occurs in a specimen. The thicker the tin layer, the slower the corrosion that occurs so as to minimize the damage caused by corrosion. Keywords: Electroplating, ST-37 Steel, Tin, Corrosion
