PENGUJIAN IMPACT TERHADAP SPESIMEN YANG TELAH TERKOROSI OLEH PERLAKUAN BERBEDA
The research that will be carried out is to corrode specimens with the ASTM E23 impact test standard with salt solution media and sulfuric acid solution. Comparison of the two test specimens from the corrosion test results, which specimen is more corroded. The impact test has just been carried out. Specimens that experience more severe corrosion will certainly experience a decrease in metal quality and the energy absorption given to the test specimen will be smaller. The results showed that the corrosion values of the specimens were different. Corrosion that occurs in sulfuric acid specimens shows a higher corrosion rate than salt water specimens. Figures from the sulfuric acid specimen show 2.823 mpy. Due to the nature of sulfuric acid as an ion that destroys the surface of the specimen and quickly corrodes. The energy required to break the impact test specimen. The energy required to break the specimen from the salt water bath is greater than that of the sulfuric acid bath specimen. The energy required to break the brine specimen is 3.66992366. So from this comparison the specimens soaked in salt water are stronger and tougher than the specimens soaked in sulfuric acid. Corrosion causes the metal to experience a decrease in quality due to the reaction of the metal with the environment. Keywords: ASTM E23 Specimen, Corrosion Testing, Impact Testing
