The purpose of this study was to determine the stages of sex transactions carried out by female commercial sex workers using the MiChat application and to understand the reasons for female commercial sex workers to carry out prostitution online using the MiChat application in Palembang city. This research is useful to describe the stages of online prostitution and to understand what drives female commercial sex workers to engage in online prostitution with by using the MiChat application so that the government can overcome it as a consideration in making legal policies. This study uses a qualitative methodology and uses a non-participant approach where researchers meet directly to collect data in order to obtain appropriate information in the field. Observation and interviews are the methods used by researchers to obtain information in accordance with the research under study. This study uses rational choice theory to assist researchers in finding things that encourage female commercial sex workers to engage in prostitution online using the MiChat application. The results of this study are descriptive data from interviews between researchers and informants who are female commercial sex workers by using the MiChat application in the city of Palembang Keywords: MiChat, female commercial sex workers and the process of sex transactions
