MOTIVATION IN VII GRADER STUDENTS AT SMPN 02 INDRALAYA SELATAN ABSTRACT This study aimed to see the learning motivation of class VII students of SMPN 02 Indralaya Selatan. This research used a quantitative quantitative approach with a survey method. The study population was 155 students and a sample of 112 students who were determined by the simple random sampling technique. Learning motivation scale was used to collect the data, and the results of the study showed student learning motivation that 17% or 19 students had high learning motivation, students who had moderate motivation were 67% or 75 students, and 16% or 18 students had low motivation. Then, the outside or extrinsic motivation gave more effect on the student motivations. The outside or extrinsic motivation was 6790 (53,21%), while the inside motivation was 5970 (46,78%).
