This research aimed to find out the pattern of family communication that occurs in threatened with drop out at Sriwijaya University. This study used a qualitative method. The data used in this study came from students who have been threatened with drop out and their parents. The data collection techniques were in-depth interviews and documentation study. The chosen informants were six people which consisting three students and 3 parents. To examine the validity of the data, writer applied source-triangulation technique. To analyze the data, this research used the interactive model descriptive technique. The result of the study indicated that the family communication pattern that occurs in students in threatened with drop out at Sriwijaya University is a pluralistic family communication pattern.
