STUDI PENGGUNAAN Salvinia molesta D.S. Mitcheell DAN Scirpus grossus L.f. PADA FITOREMEDIASI LIMBAH CAIR MINYAK BUMI
The study about Salvinia molesta D.S. Mitchell and Scirpus grossus L.f. effect on phytoremediation of petroleum liquid waste has been conducted from August to September 2013. The objectives of this study were (1) to find out the phytoremediation ability of two species i.e. Salvinia molesta D.S. Mitchell and Scirpus grossus L.f. and also their combination in declining of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPIi’s) value; (2) to observe the growth and morphological characteristics change of each species. For this purposes, samples of petroleum liquid waste were taken in Refinery Unit III, PT. Pertamina (Persero), Plaju, South Sumatera. TPH measurement was done in Microbiology laboratory. Dry weight measurement was performed in Plant Physiology laboratory Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences University of Sriwijaya, Indralaya. The result indicated that Scirpus grossus treatment (K2); combination of Salvinia molesta and Scirpus grossus (K3) could decrease TPH value about 85.25 % and 90.68% respectively. Scirpus grossus treatment (K2) also showed the highest dry weight was 14.33 grams. The changes of morphological characteristics occurred in leaves and roots color of both species.
