The research about Community of Plankton at Jakabaring Sport Center (JSC) Retention Ponds Seberang Ulu I District Palembang was conducted from April to May 2013 in order to know observing abundance, diversity index, dominance index and similarity index plankton. The sampling location was done by Purposive Sampling Method. Identification of plankton was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Ecology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Sriwijaya. The result of this research was found 45 genera, from phytoplankton consist of Chlorophyceae 12 genera, Cyanophyceae 4 genera, Bacillariophyceae 10 genera, Desmidiaceae 7 genera and Euglenophyceae 3 genera. Zooplankton consist of Crustacea 6 genera, Rhizopoda 1 genera and Monogononta 2 genera with abundance ranging from 2 (ind/L) to 68 (ind/L). Diversity index of plankton was categorized from low to medium ranging from 0.28 to 1.18. Dominance index of plankton at Jakabaring Sport Center (JSC) retention ponds was ranging from 0.08 to 0.55. Similarity index of plankton between stations showed relatively different plankton ranging from 0% to54%.
