OBJEKTIVITAS MEDIA DALAM BERITA(ANALISIS ISI KUANTITATIF PEMBERITAAN UU CIPTA KERJA PADA E-PAPER MEDIA INDONESIA PERIODE 6 OKTOBER-3 NOVEMBER 2020)
The implementation of the Job Creation Law with the omnibus law scheme became one of the controversial issues, that were widely discussed by various groups in 2020. The existence of pros and cons is a reason why this issue is widely debated, including the mass media in Indonesia. The differences in opinion regarding the job creation law require the media to be careful in reporting it. The media should report the issue proportionally in order to be able to present both views. This study aims to analyze how the objectivity of reporting on the Job Creation Law in the electronic newspaper Media Indonesia for the period 6 October 2020-3 November 2020. The method used in this study is a quantitative content analysis method with a descriptive approach. The results of the analysis show that Media Indonesia has not been able to report the issue objectively. This is because the principles of balance and neutrality have not been implemented properly. In reporting the Job Creation Law, Media Indonesia puts forward a positive view of the issue. This happened because more portions were given to the pros of the Job Creation Law, mainly from the government to become sources in the news. Thus, most of the news analyzed seems oriented to support the existence of the Job Creation Law. In addition, the news also tends to give an assessment of the parties related to the issue itself. Where the policymakers are more positively assessed and conversely the contra tend to be assessed negatively.
