This study aims to discuss the roles of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Osaka in encouraging of Indonesian coffee exports to Japan. This research uses the concept of commercial diplomacy proposed by Evan Potter (2004) through two forms of commercial diplomacy activities which consist of Government Objectivess (Intelligence, Networking and public relations, Contract negotiator of implementation, and Problem solving) and Business Objectives (Trade Promotion, Promotion of FDIs, Co-operation in science and technology, Promotion of Tourism, and Advocacy for national business community). The research method used is descriptive-qualitative. Sources of data collected by the authors are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by conducting interviews and documentation from various sources that already exist. The results of this study indicate that the roles of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Osaka in encouraging an increase of Indonesian coffee exports to Japan is carried out through two forms of commercial diplomacy activities based on the concept proposed by Evan Potter, that are; government objectives and business objectivess. Based on the government objectives, ITPC Osaka have carried out three of four activities, specifically; Intelligent, Networking and public relations, and Problem solving. The Contract negotiator of implementation indicator is not carried out by ITPC Osaka because it does not have the authority to implement it. Based on business objectives, ITPC Osaka have carried out two activities, specifically through Trade promotion and Advocacy for the national business community. The indicators of Promotion of Foreign Direct Investment (FDIs), Co-operations in sciences and technology, and Promotion of Tourism are not carried out by ITPC because it doesn’t have the authority to carry out promotions and cooperation in these indicators.
