This research aimed to preparation of monoacilglyserol (MAG) from ketapang (T.catappa) seed oil by ethanolysis reaction and to measured antibacterial activity have been carried out. The oil of ketapang seed was extraced by pressing method. Fatty acid in the oil was identified with Gas Chomatography (GC). Ethanolysis process using ketapang seed oil and NaOH in ethanol 95%. The preparative TLC of ethanolysis product was eluted with n-heksan: dietileter: formic apicj (80:20:2) v/v. Sample MAG from ethanolysis of ketapang seed oil were coippare to MAG standart from SEAFAST Centre. MAG was produced by TLC preparative of ethanolysis product. Antibacterial activity of MAG produced from etanolysis was assayed against Bacillus cereus with diffusion method. From this research was obtained 7.69 % w/w ketapang seed oil. The major of fatty acid from ketapang seed oil from Gas Chomatography (GC) were palmitic acid, stearic acid* oleic acid and linoleic acid . The minor of fatty acid were myrietic acid, palmitoleic acid, heptadecanoic acid, cis-10-heptadecanoic acid, eladic acid, arachidio acid, cis-11-eicosenoic acid, linolenic acid, cis-11,14-eicosedienoic acid, behenic acid, trisanoic acid and lignoceric acid. Both of the MAG have similar Rf (0.07). The amount of MAG result from ethanolysis ketapang seed oil was 1.79 % w/w. This MAG can inhibit B. cereus at 0.2 % w/v with inhibition zone 83 mm2.
