DELIGNIFIKASI TONGKOL JAGUNG SECARA ALKALI DAN EVALUASI KECERNAANNYA SECARA IN VITRO
This study aimed to observe the quality of digestibility of com cobs in vitro in an alkali delignification. Study was done in two stages. The first stages of the delignification process com cobs using NaOH 1.5% and 3% urea and the second stage of analysis, in vitro digestibility of com on the cob delignification carried out at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Food Livestock Husbandry Sriwijaya University Studies Program. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications, were used : PO (cobs com control), P1 (delignification of cobs com with NaOH 1.5%) and P2 (delignification of cobs com with 3% urea). Observed parameters were Dry Matter Digestibility (DMD), Organic Matter Digestibity (OMD), N-Ammonia and palatability. The results shows that the alkaline delignification process using 1.5% NaOH give value of DMD and OMD the best and have good palatability, so it can be used as ruminant feed.
