India is one of the most dangerous countries in the world. It is because of discrimination against women that happened there. UN through the gender entity, UN Women, also has contributions in addressing this issue. The research entitled “The Role of UN Women in Overcoming Discriminations against Women in India” raises the issue of gender inequality in India, as well as how international organizations position themselves as one of the actor of international relations in overcoming these problems. This study aims to find out the role of UN Women as an international organization in dealing with the issue of discriminations against women in India. In this qualitative study, the author analyzes the problem using the concepts of the role of international organizations according to Clive Archer, and also supported by the theory of instutional liberalism. The data sources used are secondary data obtained through document based research and internet based research. The result of this research is that UN Women have done many things in carrying out their roles as international organizations, both as instrument, arena, and as actor. However, the role of UN Women in India doesn’t have a big impact.
