In this research, Na-Bentonite pilarization has been carried out using MoN metal with various concentrations of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mEq/gram, to convert crude palm oil into biogasoline. Na-Bentonite is produced from the preparation process using saturated NaCl solution which is added to natural Bentonite. The results of CEC determination of natural Bentonite and Na-Bentonite have increased from 165.85 to 279.15 mEq/100 grams, so that the pilarization process will easily occur. The converted product was then characterized using the GC-MS instrument. The catalyst that produces the most biogasoline fraction will then be characterized using XRD, FTIR, and SEM-EDX instruments. The XRD analysis results show a shift in the diffraction angle of 5.80 becomes 12.88 after experiencing pilarization. The results of FTIR analysis showed that there were vibrations originating from the Mo=O, =C-H, Si-O, C=C, H-O-H and N-H groups after being polarized using MoN. SEM analysis results showed changes in morphological patterns after pilarization. Bentonite-MoN has a heterogeneous surface morphology and tends to have sharp needles originating from MoN, as well as an increase in pores on the Bentonite-MoN catalyst which is indicated by the increasing number of black gaps. EDX analysis shows the presence of Mo and N elements from the pilarization process. Acidity analysis was carried out by calculating the amount of pyridine absorbed. The analysis results showed the highest increase in acidity from 0.005 mmol/gram to 0.13 mmol/gram. The %Area total shows that the largest biogasoline fraction is found in the Bentonite-MoN 8 mEq/grams catalyst at 28,70%, so it can be concluded that the optimal variation of the addition of molybdenum metal occurs in the Bentonite-MoN 8 mEq/grams catalyst.
