Kata Kunci : Muara Sungai Musi, Kelimpahan Copepoda, Parameter Kualitas Perairan Capepod is one of the groups that dominates the zooplankton population in waters. The capepod abundance can become an indicator in waters because it is one of the foods for pelagic fish. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution of capepod abundance and the relationship between zooplankton abundance and water quality in the waters of the river musi estuary. The methods used in this research were preparation of sampling, determination of station site, capepod sampling, sampling treatment, taking of water quality data, calculation and identification of capepod. The results of identification were found 9 types of capepod including nauplius sp., Acartia, lithonia fullox, lithonia similis, rhicalanis sp., Calanus sp., Peoplea, cyclopoida, paracylopoida, the capepod abundance was found with ranges from 3 ind/l - 193 ind/l. The Diversity index was included in the middle criteria ranges from 0,7 – 1,6, the uniformity index was included in the high criteria ranges from 0,3 – 0,7 and dominance index was included in the low criteria ranges from 0,2 – 0,5. The results of PCA using XLSTAT were obtained with the characteristics of diversity, uniformity, Salinity, pH, DO and phosphate. The results of water quality parameter show normal and good for survival of capepod. Keywords: Musi River Estuary, Copepod Abundance, Water Quality Parameters
