Microgreens are young plants that are harvested when the plant is 7-14 days after planting, when the new cotyledon leaves appear and grow into true leaves. These young vegetables are rich of nutrients and vitamins. One of the plants that can be cultivated in the form of microgreens is wheat grass. Wheat grass microgreens contains antioxidant compounds that are able to kill cancer cells. Microgreens can be planted in various planting media such as soil and hydroponic planting media. The growth of microgreens is effected by light, temperature and humidity. The addition of organic planting media is able to maintain soil moisture, control soil pH and improve drainage. Organic materials that can be used as a planting media are compost and cocopeat. This study aims to analyze the effect of planting media on the yield of wheat grass microgreens (Triticum aestivum L.). This research was conducted in October to November 2020, in the soil laboratory and seed experiments garden of the research department PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja (PUSRI) Palembang, South Sumatra. This research used Randomized Group Design with one factor is planting media (M) consisting of 7 levels M1: 100% soil (v/v), M2: 75% soil + 25% compost (v/v), M3: 50% soil + 50% compost (v/v), M4 : 25% soil + 75% compost (v/v), M5 : 75% soil + 25% cocopeat (v/v), M6 : 50% soil + 50% cocopeat (v/v), M7 : 25% soil + 75% cocopeat (v/v) with 3 replication. The variabel in this research are percentation of germination, plant height, root length, fresh weight of plant, fresh weight of root, green leaf level and pH value. Based on the results of the study showed that the composition of planting media effected to the fresh weight of plants, the pH value of planting media, and the percentation of germination on microgreens wheat grass harvested in first harversting periode, and also effected to the length of roots that harvested in second harversting periode. The treatment of 75% soil + 25% cocopeat (M7) is a planting media that gives the best results to the harvest of microgreens wheat grass in first and second harvesting periode. This study suggested to planting wheat grass microgreens with the composition of planting media 75% soil + 25% cocopeat (v / v) so that would give the best production of microgreens wheat grass.
