DIPLOMASI PUBLIK KOREA SELATAN MELALUI KOREA-INDONESIA FILM FESTIVAL (KIFF)
Films are able to present and visualize the characteristic and identity of a society or even country. Therefore, films contain soft power which can be used as a instrument for public diplomacy. South Korea also participated in using film as a tool of public diplomacy carried out to Indonesia in the form of a festival film. Korea-Indonesia Film Festival (KIFF) is an annual agenda held by the Korean Cultural Center Indonesia since 2013. This research aims to explain how the public diplomacy carried out by South Korea is to achieve its national interests in improving and enhancing the country's image. The approach used in this research is the concept of public diplomacy, with the research method used is qualitative methods. The results of this study indicate that the public diplomacy carried out by South Korea through the Korea-Indonesia Film Festival is quite successful based on the five forms of public diplomacy presented by Nicholas J. Cull, those are Listening, Korean Cultural Center Indonesia collects data and opinions of event visitors to broaden public diplomacy approaches in the future. Advocacy, Korean Cultural Center Indonesia promotes ideas, policies or interests related to the Korea-Indonesia Film Festival to the Indonesians. Cultural Diplomacy, Korean cultural products, namely films, are used by the Korean Cultural Center Indonesia at the Korea-Indonesia Film Festival event. Exchange Diplomacy, Korea-Indonesia Film Festival screened several films that were the result of collaboration between Indonesia and Korea, which in the process of this collaboration resulted in acculturation between actors of cooperation. International Broadcasting, Korean Cultural Center Indonesia uses various media to reach the Indonesians in informing about the Korea-Indonesia Film Festival event.
