Dini Fathia. 08051381722115. Primary Productivity Analysis Based on Measurement of Phytoplankton Abundance and Chlorophyll-a Concentration in the waters of Tangkil Island, Lampung (Supervisors: Tengku Zia Ulqodry, S.T, M.Si, Ph.D and Ellis Nurjuliasti Ningsih, M.Si) The high potential of natural resources in the waters of Tangkil Island is an indication of the fertility level of the waters. The net primary productivity, phytoplankton, and the concentration of chlorophyll-a in the waters are indicators that can determine the fertility of the waters. Utilization of chlorophyll-a contained in phytoplankton for photosynthesis affects primary productivity in waters. The presence of phytoplankton in waters is very important because of its role as the primary productivity of the food chain cycle in the waters, so that it can determine the presence of aquatic organisms and the characteristics of a waters. This research was conducted in November 2020 with 4 station points spread out according to the cardinal directions and aquatic ecology, so that the sampling points represent the waters of Tangkil Island. The abundance value of phytoplankton at each observation station does not exceed 2,000 cell/L, so the waters of Tangkil Island are categorized as low water fertility (oligotrophic). The range of chlorophyll-a values obtained ranged from 1.19 - 2.48 mg/L which was included in the oligotrophic-mesotrophic category. Based on the results of the measurement of net primary productivity, it shows that the waters of Tangkil Island, Lampung has a moderate level of water fertility (mesotrophic). The results of the correlation between the phytoplankton abundance and chlorophyll-a on primary productivity using multiple regression analysis showed a very high correlation with a coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.99.
