Chili (Capsicum annuum L) is a horticultural commodity that is in great demand because it has a fairly high economic value. In general, chili contains a lot of nutrients and vitamins including calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, calcium, vitamin A, B1, and vitamin C. In an effort to increase the yield and quality of chili farmers use chemical pesticides, the use of pesticides on plants can leave harmful residues. for humans. This study aims to determine the pesticide residues in chili plants in Tanjung Pering Village according to the Maximum Residue Limit (BMR) based on the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture no.53 PERMENTAN/KR.040/ 12/2018 and the right way to apply pesticides to chili plants. The research was conducted on chili farmers' land in Tanjung Pering Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency and the analysis of pesticide residues was carried out by the PT. Saraswanti Indo Genetech (SIG) Bogor, from July to December 2021. The method used in this study is primary data and secondary data. The results of this study indicate that the method for applying pesticides by farmers is not in accordance with the 6T (right target, right quality, right type of pesticide, right time, right dose or concentration, and right method of use) and the use of PPE is incomplete. The results of the residue analysis at the PT. Bogor GIS showed that the residual level of carbendazim in control chili (without treatment) was 0.0088 while after washing using mama lime the residue level was reduced to 0.0055, which means that the pesticide residue was still below the BMR and safe for consumption.
