UJI EFEKTIVITAS Trichoderma spp. UNTUK MENGENDALIKAN PENYAKIT HAWAR DAUN (Exserohilum turcicum Pass. Leonard et Sugss.) PADA TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays L.)
Corn is a leading commodity sector of food crops that are useful and have high economic value to be cultivated or developed. Corn plants are not only used as a source of food, but also as animal feed and industrial raw materials. One of the problems in decreasing maize production is the attack of leaf blight caused by Exserohilum turcicum. Control can be done with microbial antagonists, namely Trichoderma spp. Trichoderma is a biological agent that has been proven to be able to protect plants from various plant diseases. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Trichoderma spp. on the growth and development of maize and the development of E. turcicum leaf blight on maize. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replications. Each treatment is control (T0), application of Trichoderma spp. preventively (T1) and the application of Trichoderma spp. curatively (T2). The parameter observed was the severity of the disease with 4 observations. The results of this study indicate that the use of Trichoderma sp. preventively and curatively not effective in controlling E. turcicum leaf blight. Administration of Trichoderma spp. preventively and curatively effective for increasing crop production by 224.39-239.44 grams.
