EFEKTIVITAS EKSTRAK SERAI WANGI (CYMBOPOGON NARDUS) DALAM MENGENDALIKAN HAMA GUDANG KUMBANG TEPUNG MERAH (TRIBOLIUM CASTANEUM)
Trebolium castaneum is one of the pests that are often found in rice storage warehouses. Meanwhile, citronella leaves (Cymbopogon nardus) contain compounds consisting of citral, citronella, geraniol, mirsena, nerol, farnesol, methyl, he, ptenol and dipentena. The largest compounds contained in citronella are citronella, which is 35% and graniol, 35-40%. The active ingredients contained in the leaves of citronella make imago T. castaneum not want to approach the treated rice. The aim was to determine the effectiveness of citronella leaf extract (Cymbopogon nardus) on the repellence and mortality of T. castaneum imago. The research method used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments which were repeated 5 times. This research was carried out at the MIPA Laboratory and Plant Disease Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from February to March 2021. The results showed that the higher the concentration of citronella extract (Cymbopogon nardus) used, the greater the percentage of repellence against imago T. castaneum. The highest percentage of rejection of imago T. castaneum was treatment P4 (22.5%) which was 82% which was classified as a strong repellency level. As for the mortality rate of citronella leaf extract, it can be said that the concentration used is less toxic because the highest mortality percentage is 20% in treatment P4 (22.5%). The LC50 value of citronella extract which was able to kill 50% of the total imago was 36.34%.
