KANDUNGAN LOGAM TEMBAGA (CU) DAN TIMBAL (PB) PADA SEDIMEN, AKAR, DAN DAUN AVICENNIA ALBA BLUME. DI PULAU PAYUNG SUMATERA SELATAN
Coastal areas have very broad benefits both in the ecological and socio-economic. However, due to excessive use it can also have an impact on pollution in coastal areas. Heavy metal is a pollutant that is dangerous because it has toxic to the environment if its concentration exceeds the threshold. Payung Island is a lowland area that is overgrown by mangroves. This island is in the middle between the Musi River Estuary and the Telang River Estuary. Because of its location, it is possible to make this island a place for the accumulation of pollutants from river flows. One of the mangrove species in Payung Island is Avicennia alba Blume. This study aims to determine the content of heavy metals Cu and Pb to determine the state of the environment and the accumulation ability of A. alba to Cu and Pb metals in Payung Island, South Sumatra. The conclusion of this study is that the concentrations of heavy metals Cu and Pb in sediments ranged from 6.22-7.19 mg/kg and 6.49-8.48 mg/kg, which indicated that the concentration of heavy metals in Payung Island was still below the threshold. A. alba included in the excluder plant which was marked with a BCF value 1 at all stations. Meanwhile, Pb metal uses a phytostabilization mechanism which is characterized by a TF value < 1.
