UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIJAMUR EKSTRAK BUAH MENGKUDU (MORINDA CIRTIFOLIA L.) TERHADAP JAMUR CANDIDA ALBICANS
Research on efficacious plants as medicines continue to be developed to treat various diseases. This research aimed to determine the benefits of noni fruit methanol extract in the fractions of chloroform, ethyl acetate, and 2-propanol in inhibiting the growth of the fungus Candida albicans. This research began with extraction method - maceration using methanol solvent which was then continued with multilevel fractionation. The antifungal activity test used the disc diffusion method with test fungus Candida albicans, then the antifugal activity test were continued with the minimum inhibitory concentration test using the turbidimetric method. The results of phytochemical screening in noni fruit in the 2-propanol fraction had the most metabolites in flavonoid and tannin compounds, ethyl acetate fraction in alkaloids and saponins, and chloroform fraction in steroid compounds. The 2-propanol fraction at a concentration of 1.000 ug /mL gave antifungal activity of Candida albicans with an inhibition zone diameter 0f 17.667 mm while ethyl acetate gave an inhibition zone of 10.333 mm and chloroform fraction of 15.667 mm at the same concentration. The results of the turbidimetric test of the minimum inhibitory concentration at 125 ug /mL was the minimum inhibitory concentration of Candida albicans fungus growth. Based on the results of the research, the methanol extract in the 2-propanol fraction of the noni fruit inhibit the fungus Candida albicans more effectively than the ethyl acetate and chloroform fractions.
