Waters of Muara Sugihan is one of the water region that have potentitial for fishery which becomes the supporting factors for the community live around it, either for Banyuasin Regency and Ogan Komering Ilir Regency (OKI). The data aboutmorphometric and meristic measurements on fish species onSugihan River Estuary is very minimal,thereforeit is necessary to study morphometric and meristicmeasurements of fish species at Sugihan River Estuary, South Sumatera Province. The purpose of this research is for knowing the fish species based on morphometric and meristicmeasurements that are lived on Sugihan River Estuary, South Sumtera Province. The result of this research is hoped to give scientific information and becomes the basic data which is beneficial for the management of Sugihan River Estuary waters, South Sumatera Province. This research was held in March until May 2018. The identification of fish species was held atEcology Laboratory of Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The research method which is used for this research is Purposive Samplingbased on the conditions and circumstances of researched area and fishing area that commonly used by local fisher. Based on theselocations, the location of sampling station determination in Sugihan River Estuary consists of three stations.
