UJI SKEMA PARAMETERISASI KUMULUS KAIN - FRITSCH PADA MODEL WEATHER RESEARCH AND FORECASTING - ADVANCED RESEARCH WRF (WRF - ARW) UNTUK ESTIMASI CURAH HUJAN DI WILAYAH SUMATERA SELATAN
Weather Research and Forecasting – Advanced Research WRF (WRF – ARW) requires parameterization assistance to indirectly calculate the effects of physical processes with variables that have been taken into account in the model. One of the parameterization in WRF-ARW is cumulus parameterization. In this study, the Kain – Fritsch (KF) cumulus parameterization scheme was used. The WRF-ARW input data used is Global Forecast System (GFS) data with a spatial resolution of 0,25 x 0,25 and a temporal resolution 3 hours. The comparison data is in the form of TRMM satellite data with a spatial resolution of 0,25 x 0,25 and a temporal resolution 3 hours. The research period was in December 2018, January 2019, and February 2019 in South Sumatra and surrounding areas. The study parameter is rainfall with data analysis methods in the form of statistical tests (r and RMSE) and dichotomy tests (ACC, POD and FAR). The WRF-ARW model with the Kain – Fritsch scheme produces a rainfall prediction value above the value of the TRMM satellite. The results of the statistical test of the RMSE value presented are quite high and the correlation (r) value is represented by a very low relationship to the TRMM satellite data, so that the WRF-ARW prediction with the Kain – Fritsch scheme is not good enough. The results of the dichotomy test on the WRF-ARW output, the ACC index was sufficiently validated, the POD index was validated high, while the FAR index was validated low.
