ADSORPSI ION Pb2+ DAN Ni2+ MENGGUNAKAN KITIN DAN KITOSAN SEBAGAI ADSORBEN
The research about the adsorption of Pb2+ and Ni2+ ions used chitin and chitosan from prawn shells have been done. Characterisation of chitin and chitosan was determined by measuring the water content, ash content, and identification of fiinctional group. Adsorption of Pb2+ and Ni2+ with chitin and chitosan was determined through the measure of equilibrium time, optimum concentration, and adsorption capacity. The results showed the water content of 33,98% chitin and 41,66% of ctdtosan. While for the ash content of 24,27% on ^ i chitin and ash content 19,41% on the chitosan. Adsorption equilibrium of Pb and Ni2+ by chitin, was 25 minutes and 30 minutes, respectively. The optimum concentration was 12 ppm and 20 ppm while the adsorption capacity was 1.0104 mg/g and 1.4352 mg/g. Adsorption equilibrium of Pb2+ and Ni2+ by chitosan, was 30 minutes and 100 minutes, respectively. The optimum concentration adsorption was 12 ppm and 10 ppm, while the adsorption capacity was 0.9894 mg/g and 0.4650 mg/g. The research can be conclusion that chitin and chitosan can adsorp Pb2+ and Ni2+ ions.
