Sleep disturbances are very common among people with a cancer diagnosis and currently undergoing cancer treatment. There are several factors associated with sleep disorders such as age, gender, cancer itself, pain, anxiety, depression, stress, nausea and vomiting and fatigue. The purpose of this study was to determine the determinant factors associated with sleep disorders in cancer patients with chemotherapy. This research is a descriptive analytic study with a cross sectional approach. The sample selection used purposive sampling technique, non-probability sampling, with a total sample of 77 patients. The results of the Chi-Square analysis test showed a significant relationship between the variables of pain, fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression and sleep disorders with p value of 0.001, 0.012, 0.009, 0.001, 0.004 respectively. While the variables of age, gender, cancer onset, stage of cancer, type of cancer, nausea and vomiting did not have a significant relationship with sleep disorders with p values of 0.646, 0.710, 0.557, 0.777, 0.897, 0.978, 0.825. The results of the multivariate logistic regression analysis test showed that the coefficient value of B (1.468) and Exp (B) (4.456) was the highest anxiety variable when compared to other variables. So it can be concluded that the most dominant factor associated with sleep disorders is anxiety. It is hoped that further research can develop this research with qualitative methods so that the data obtained will be more specific and detailed.
