ISOLASI DAN UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI SENYAWA METABOLIT SEKUNDER DARI FRAKSI METANOL DAUN TUMBUHAN RUKAM (FLACOURTIA RUKAM)
Flacourtia rukam is a plant that has been used traditionally, one of its benefits as a treatment for diarrhea and dysentry. The aims of this study to isolated secondary metabolites from the methanol fraction of rukam leaves and their antibacterial activity test against Salmonella typhi and Shigella dysentriae. This research was started by maseration method using solvent with increasing polarity. Separation and purification were done by chromatography methods. The structure of this compound was determined base on spectroscopic data such as IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and comparison with the reported data. The antibacteria activity of the isolated compound was tested by paper disc difusion method and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value was determined by the micro dilution method using the 96-well plates. A Pure compound that was isolated from white crystal (17 mg). Based on spectroscopy data analysis and compared with data from the literature, the isolated compound belonged to triterpenoid group that is lupeol with molecule formula C30H50O. The isolated compound show antibacterial activity against Salmonella typhi and Shigella dysentriae with an MIC value of 100 ppm, inclued in the moderate category. The compound is reported here for the first time from F. rukam.
