South Lampung Regency is a district with a large population and has a strategic location at the gateway to the southern part of the island of Sumatra causing the attraction and generation of various modes to be very high, especially land modes. This study aims to determine the characteristics of accidents, find the causal factors, determine the location of blackspots and produce strategies to reduce accidents in the most vulnerable areas. Analysis of accident characteristics is carried out by classifying accidents based on accident rate, accident victim class, time, type of vehicle, type of accident, as well as data on the parties involved in the accident. To determine the location of the blackspot, the AEK (Accident Equivalent Number) method and the Cussum (Cummutive Summary) method are used. After that, a direct field inspection was carried out to directly evaluate the condition of the road that was prone to accidents. In this study, it was concluded that the factors causing the accident were road conditions and human error, Jalan Lintas Tengah and Jalan Ir. Sutami is a national and provincial road with the highest traffic accident rate in South Lampung Regency.
