One of the plants that has the potential to reduce uric acid levels is neem leaves (Azadirachta indica Juss). The results of chemical examination showed that neem leaves contain flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, terpenoids and phenolic which have potential as antihyperurisemia. The purpose of this research is to look at the antihyperurisemia effect of ethanol extract of neem leaves to decrease levels in reducing uric acid levels in white male wistar rats induced by chicken liver juice and melinjo juice. Test animal were divided into five groups namely positive control (allopurinol 1,62 mg/200gBW), negative control (NaCMC 0,5%), and three treatment groups of ethanol extract of neem leaves at a dose of 250, 500, and 1000 mg/kgBW. Rats were given an induction of chicken liver juice and melinjo juice is carried out for all for 8 days, then treated for 8 days by giving ethanol extract of neem leaves and measuring uric acid levels. Uric acid levels were measure using the enzymatic method with uric acid reagents (DBHS). Characteristics of ethanol extract of neem leaves based drying shrinkage testing parameters obtained results of 3,7±1,52%, on water content 3,6±1,52%, water soluble extracts 1,33±1,52%, ethanol soluble extract levels 35±17,32%, total ash content 1,67±1,15%, and acid insoluble ash content 0,062±0,03 %. The result showed that neem leaves extract at a dose of 1000 mg/gBW given was proven to reduce uric acid levels. Based on the post hoc analysis showed not significantly different between the dose of 1000mg/kgBW and the positive control group (p>0,05) which showed ethanol extract neem leaves contained activity as a antihyperuricemia. The effective dose value of neem leaves ethanol extract to reduce uric acid levels that is equal to 316,89mg/kgBB. The total flavonoid in ethanol extract of neem leaves is 124,24mgQE/g.
