PREPARASI DAN UJI AKTIVITAS GEL ANTIBAKTERI PEMBAWA MIKROPARTIKEL EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN NANGKA (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.) DENGAN VARIASI KONSENTRASI HPMC (Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose)
Characteristic and activity tests of the antibacterial gel carriers of the ethanolic extract of jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterohylus Lam.) were conducted to determine the effect of HPMC variations on the physical test of gel preparations and to see the antibacterial activity of the ethanolic extract of jackfruit leaves. HPMC was a gelling agent used in this study which was varied into 3 formulas, namely 3%, 5% and 7%. The antibacterial activity test was carried out by the diffusion method, by looking at the inhibition zone formed from the variation of the three formulas, it showed that the ethanol extract of jackfruit leaves could inhibit Propionibacterium acnes bacteria. An increase in the diameter of the inhibition zone was obtained from the gel preparation after being formed into microparticles. The increasing concentration of HPMC affects the decrease in washability and spreadability of gel preparations and increases the adhesion, pH and viscosity of the preparations. The results of the physical test of variations in HPMC concentration showed that the best formula was formula 1 (F1) with a concentration of 3% HPMC and the values of pH, homogeneity, viscosity, spreadability, adhesion, washability and stability were 5.03±0,02; homogeneous; 3447.37±185.199cPs; 5.437±0.3 cm; 45.33±2.516 seconds; 15.3±1.5275 mL; stable. The results of statistical tests of antibacterial activity in vitro showed that there was a significant difference between the positive treatment group and each treatment group (p
