KEMAMPUAN EKSTRAK DAN FRAKSI AKTIF DAUN KEDONDONG (Spondias dulcis Forst.) SEBAGAI LARVASIDA NABATI TERHADAP LARVA INSTAR III Culex quinquefasciatus
Filariasis is one of the chronic diseases that become a problem in public health and is caused by mosquito bites one of them is Culex quinquefasciatus. Mosquito control Cx. quinquefasciatus can be performed at the larvae stage by using environmentally safe leaf kedondong. The objective of this research is to know the ability of extract and active fraction of leaf kedondong, calculate LC50 value, and to know bioactive compound on kedondong leaf which has ability as larvascide larvae instar III Cx. quinquefasciatus. The study from November 2017 to January 2018 in 2 places, Laboratory of Genetics and Biotechnology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University and Entomology Laboratory of R & D Research Institute of P2B2 Baturaja, South Sumatera. This study was an experimental study using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 6 treatments and 4 repeat. The treatment used was 125 ppm, 250 ppm, 500 ppm, and 1000 ppm with 2 controls, negative control 0 ppm and temefos 1 ppm. The research procedure starting with sample preparation, extraction, fractionation, larvacidal test, and the identification of bioactive compounds by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC). The data obtained is presented in tabular form, then the data is processed statistically, then the data is processed statistically with the 5% Variance Analysis, if p ≤0,05, the Duncan Continuing test is done. Furthermore, the LC50 value is calculated in Probit. The results obtained are the extract of kedondong leaf has the ability as larvacide for larvae Cx quinquefasciatus instar III with the percentage 40,00%, 62,50%, 73,75%, and 92,50% respectively. The highest fraction of leaf extract of the highest ability as larvacide is n-hexane fraction with larvae mortality percentage at 20,00%, 46,25%, 57,50%, and 81,25% respectively. The LC50 value is capable of killing 50% of the extract larvae test larva of 180 ppm, while the n-hexane active fraction is 480 ppm. The compounds are suspected of having the ability as a larvaside contained in other kedondong leaf tannins, flavonoids, terpenoids, and phenols.
