IMPREGNASI KITOSAN-SELULOSA DAN APLIKASINYA SEBAGAI ADSORBEN ION LOGAM BESI (II)
The transformation of chitin from snail shell to chitosan and the separation of cellulose acacia mangium wiild has been done. The transformation and separation product was characterized using FT-IR spectroscopy and XRD difractometer. Chitosan and cellulose were modified by impregnation process and then was used to adsorbed Fe (II) from it solution. Interaction time and Fe (H) concentration were studied in adsoiption process as well as separated desorption. FT-IR spectrum showed that chitosan has fimctional groups —NH2 and —OH and cellulose has -OH has main function group with vibration in wavelength 3410,15 cm”1. The XRD pattem of chitosan showed that chitosan has crystalline structure where as cellulose has amorphous structure. FT-IR spectrum of chitosan impregnated cellulose can not be concluded as the occurence of impregnation. Impregnation was occured and can be concluded from XRD pattem. Adsorption rate constant of Fe(II) metal ion follow in the order chitosanrcellulose > chitosan > cellulose. Adsorption capacity had different value with the order chitosancellulose > chitosan > cellulose. Separated desorption of Fe(II) adsorbed by chitosan impregnated cellulose show highest percentage by using EDTA as desorption reagen. The amount of desorption is 88,60 % and reflected complex formation as adsorption mechanism involved in chitosan impregnated cellulose.
