INTERKALASI HIDROKSI LAPIS GANDA DENGAN SENYAWA POLIOKSOMETALAT H3[α-PW12O40].nH2O dan APLIKASINYA SEBAGAI ADSORBEN CONGO RED
Intercalation of polyoxometalate H3[α-PW12O40]·nH2O on layered double hydroxide by comparison weight rasio of layered double hydroxide : polyoxometalate H3[α-PW12O40]·nH2O, i.e: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 and 1: 4 has been done. The results intercalated layered double hydroxide was characterized using FT-IR spectrophotometer, XRD and TG-DTA analysis. The research results using FT-IR spectrophotometer characterization shown the process of intercalation was not optimum for every weight ratio. Characterization using XRD showed the process of intercalation optimum at ratio (2: 1) that indicated the field (00l) consisting of reflection at (003), (006) and (110)were observed in the area 2θat 60o-63oshown layer double hydroxide were intercalated with polyoxometalate compound. Advanced characterization using TG-DTA analysis at comparison (2:1) showed loss of OH in the layer at 170 to 220°C and for the decomposition of the compounds polioksometalateH3[α-PW12O40]·nH2O at 300 to 400°C. The adsorption process of layered double hydroxide intercalated polioksometalat H3[α-PW12O40]·nH2Oat ratio (2: 1) shows the adsorption rate (k) of 0.81 min-1, the largest adsorption capacity (b) at 70°C is 5,42 mol/g, the largest adsorption energy at 70oC which is 0.6 kJ/mol. The value of the enthalpy (ΔH) and entropy (ΔS) decreased with increasing concentrations of the dye congo red. Effect of pH on the adsorption at pH 8 show the biggest of number congo red adsorbed is 38.1 mg/L.
