PENENTUAN ADSORPSI ION Cd2+ MENGGUNAKAN KITIN SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH AMOBILISASI
The isolation of chitin from shell of shrimps (Cryphios Rosenbergii) has been done through demineralization and deproteination. Chitin was characterized through identification of fimctional groups by FTIR spectrophotometiy, determination of water contents, ash content and deacetylation degree. Chitin was used as adsorbent in adsoption of ion Cd2+ in aqueous water. The result showed that water content was 3.73 % (b/b), the ash content was 0.66 % (b/b) and deacetylation degree 39.522 %. The optimum contact time for ion Cd2+ adsorption by chitin before immobilazation were 130 minutes and 160 minutes for chitin after immobilization. While the adsorption capacity of chitin before and after immobilization were 52.75 mg/g and 53.00 mg/g with optimum concentration of ion Cd2+ was 100 mg/L. Based on paired t-test the adsorption capacity of both adsorbents were not significantly different.
