A research about the impact of Coastal area society economic empowerment (PEMP) on the society’s income of programme receiver in Sungai Batang village, Air Sugihan subdistrict OKI regency South Sumatra Province has been conducted on March 2007. This research was aimed to analyse the effect of PEMP programme on the income level of the society who received the fund programme and to know the management of PEMP programme in Sungai Batang village, Air Sugihan subdistrict OKI regency South Sumatra province. The samples were taken by using Stratified Random Sampling method. The data analysis was done by using kuantitative technique, that was the analysis about respondent’s income and t-test as well as kualitative technique. The research variables were focused on the income changing of the receiver of the fund PEMP programme after they received it and the management of PEMP programme. The results of the research showed that the PEMP programme fund had a significant impact to the society receiver’s income about 21.16 %. The result of t-test also showed that there was a significant difference in society receiver’s income before and after the PEMP programme. Based on the fundretum level the management of PEMP programme was good, it could reached exactly 100 %in the three months. The application of the management of PEMP programme was still not good that caused the society’s creativity to increase their income was low
