The objective of the study was to know the ability of black banana aphids P. nigronervosa in transmiting Bunchy Top Virus of banana clones. The research was conducted in Greenhouse, Department of Plant Pest and Diseases Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University Inderalaya, from June 2007 to January 2008. The experiment consisted of three treatments of banana varieties (i.e ambon, putri and kepok) with five replications and one control plant for each varieties and was analysed descriptively. Each treatment inoculated by 40 black banana aphids coming from sick plant. The result showed that black banana aphids P. nigronervosa transmiting Bunchy Top Virus fforn sick plant to healthy plant. The percentage of symptomed plant achieved 40% and 80% at kepok banana and putri banana respectively. The fastest incubation period was 21 days at putri banana, and the longest was 40 days at kepok banana.
