The objective of the research was to study the mechanical charecteristic of calsiboard composed of acacia sawdust and cement. The research was conducted at Workshop of Agricultural Technology Department, Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University from Merch 2011 to June 2011. The research used descriptive method where the data presented in tables and graphics. The treatments were A = 50 g of acacia sawdust and 50 g of cement; B = 50 g of acacia sawdust and 100 g of cement; C = 50 g of acacia sawdust and 150 g of cement; D = 50 g of acacia sawdust and 200 g of cement; and E = 50 g of acacia sawdust and 250 g of cement. Each treatment was added 100 ml of water. The parameter were the strength, the deformation, and the density of calsiboard. The result showed that among the treatments, C treatment (50 g of acacia sawdust and 150 g of cement) had better value (where the stenght was 2861.11 g, the deformation was 2.33 mm).
