One of the most common psychological problems found in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing hemodialysis is depression. Untreated depression can have a negative impact on the patient. One of the non-pharmacological interventions to overcome depression is dzikir therapy. Dzikir therapy could bring calm, peace, tranquility, relieve depression, and enlighten the soul. To apply nursing care in cases of chronic kidney disease and management of depression to improve quality of life with evidence-based dhikr therapy. Descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was used. The results of the study found nursing diagnoses, namely 3 actual diagnoses, 4 potential diagnoses and 1 risk diagnoses. Interventions carried out to overcome hopelessness (depression) were providing emotional support and calming therapy (dzikir). The implications of dzikir therapy after being given for 3 days could reduce the level of depression from the category of severe depression to moderate and mild depression therefore improved the quality of life in the three patients managed. Dzikir therapy had several stages, namely before dzikir therapy first created a quiet and comfortable room, limited external stimuli, encouraged patients to relax and focus and pray. Then given the BDI questionnaire and recited the dzikir sentence which was read repeatedly "Subhannallah, walhamdulillah, walaa ilaaha illallah, allahu akbar". That dzikir could cause relaxation and calm which would have an effect on stimulation of the autonomic nervous system which had an impact on the body's physiological response and inhibited the work of the sympathetic nerves. Nursing care was carried out on 3 managed patients which consisted of a process of assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Dzikir therapy had an effect on decreasing levels of depression and improving quality of life.
