PENGARUH VARIASI SUPERPLASTICIZER TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK SELF COMPACTING CONCRETE DENGAN ABU CANGKANG SAWIT
The use of a low ratio of water to cement in Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) aims to produce concrete with high compressive strength, but the use of less water causes the workability of the concrete to below, so it is necessary to use chemical additives in the form of a superplasticizer. Superplasticizer functions to improve workability while maintaining the specified ratio of water to cement. This research was conducted to determine the effect of using a superplasticizer on SCC concrete using oil palm ash (POFA). The superplasticizer doses used at the composition of SCC were 1.5%, 2.0%, and 2.5%. Meanwhile, the POFA used is 10% of the total cement. The results showed that the addition of the superplasticizer dose at SCC increased the diameter of the flow distribution, accelerated the flow time, decreased viscosity, and increased the passing ability of fresh concrete. The use of POFA as a partial substitute for cement affects the compressive strength and density. The highest compressive strength value was obtained at SCC with POFA 10% and superplasticizer 1.5% at 34.75 MPa at the age of 28 days. The use of a superplasticizer percentage of more than 1.5% in the concrete mixture considered to be more than the required dose so that the hydration process between cement and water hampered because the surface of the cement particles that should react with water covered by the superplasticizer and results in the compressive strength of the concrete being smaller.
