MONITORING DAN EVALUASI TINGKAT PERTUMBUHAN MANGROVE DI AREAL REHABILITASI HUTAN MANGROVE TELUK PAYO BANYUASIN
The degradat ion of mangrove area in P ayo Bay is caused by many factors, such as : the settlement, the development of industry, and the banhing. The purpose of research is to know the growing level of mangrove and the convering offresh mangrove forest in rehabilitation area in Payo Bay. The research w as provided into 10 transect and 50 plot samples. The data that needed in this research including physical and Chemical parameters, substrat, and biological mangrove vegetation. The temperature revolved about 27-29°C, the salinity w as about 20-26%o and pH was about 6,4-6,6. The result of this research showed that the value of pH, temperature, and salinity were reliable for the growing level of mangrove. There were four kinds of mangrove in research station such as : the true mangrove: Rhizophora mucronata and there kinds were association mangrove such as Nypa fruticans, Acanthus ilicifolius, and Acrostichum aureum. Density of mangrove was 976 ind/ha in 2005 and it was 1588 ind/ha in 2008. The growing level of mangrove was included measure of diameter and the high is increase in every year. It was known that average of diameter in each phase mangrove increasing. Stalks phase in 2007, the average of diameter ih this research was 10 cm, and increased in 2008, with the average was 12,6 cm. Accordingly, the high mangrove was increased. In 2005, the average measure of high mangrove was 1,5 m and increase in 2008, with the average was 2,2 m. This condition could explain that the situation was good in the growing level on the location of research. Frotn the results, was known of total fresh mangrove until in 2008 was 11.300 stalks, so it could be known that the percentage of mangrove growing in the research location was 67,5%. Generally, the manufacture of mangrove rehabilitation area in Payo Bay was successful.
