ANALISIS MIGRASI FTALAT DARI KEMASAN PLASTIK MAKANAN PADA SIMULAN MAKANAN DENGAN KROMATOGRAFI GAS-DETEKTOR NYALA IONISASI (GC-FID)
Migration analysis of phthalate from plastic food packaging on food simulants using gas chromatography flame ionization detector (GC-FID) was studied. Phthalates are used in plastic as a plasticizer to improve flexibility. Phthalate derivatives such as di- 2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) have been used plastics. DEHP can migrate into the food because of the temperature and the length of time in contact to food. Types of plastics that were used are polypropylene and polyethylene. Tests performance of plastics were before boiling, after boiling, and the water boiled stew of lontong. The analysis was done by soaking the plastic 3 x 3 cm in n-heptane at a temperature of 70 - 80° C for 30 minutes. The results of the analysis of DEHP from plastic before boiling using gas chromatography flame ionization detector produces a concentration of 25,1 ppm for the sample A (PP plastic having size 6,7 cm x 15,5 cm), 11,1 ppm for the sample B (PP plastic having size 10 cm x 18,5 cm), and 2,7 ppm of sample C (LDPE plastic having size 10 cm x 18,5 cm). After being boiled, the plastic produced concentration of DEHP 3,5 ppm for sample A and 1,8 ppm for sample C. In the B sample, DEHP was not detected. Plastic concentration were different before and after boiling for DEHP concentration which was decreased. It showed the migration of DEHP occurred from plastic to water except the boiling water of lontong.
